Tell This Machine What You Want and it Will Make It For You!

Really! This machine will build almost anything you can dream up as long as it's made from plastic and can fit in a box smaller than 8 x 8 x 5.5 inches (200 mm x 200 mm x 140 mm). Obviously you can make much bigger things by building them in smaller parts and then putting the parts together.

This RepRap 3d printer has upgraded linear bearings (ball bearings instead of bronze bushings) and a stainless steel threaded rod for the z-axis, and high-torque motors. This makes it's printing more accurate.

It's Not a Waterbed, So Why Do You Need a Heated Bed?

This RepRap comes with an optional heated bed. It's the red thing in the pictures above and yes you do need one!

Heating the bed (the bed is where you print your parts) keeps the parts from warping and allows PLA plastic (the plastic you will probably use most of the time) to be printed directly on the glass. Heating the bed also makes your parts print out without warping.

Why bother building a 3D printer when you can purchase this reliable, fully-assembled printer? Start printing your own cool creations right away or print things you download from the internet. Skip the weeks of learning how to put one together.

How Do I Get This RepRap Working?

You will need to install the software and set up the printer. You'll download the software from the site listed below and set up a cad program. This is a little bit more complex than setting up a regular printer, but you can call our engineer for up to a hour of free support.

This RepRap connects directly to your computer with a USB cable which we also include free.

Buy the plastic filament from your favorite supplier. Our favorite is listed below.

The code that runs the RepRap is called "gcode". You really don't need to know what "gcode" is but some of the geeks out there will want to know that it's "gcode". It's basically the same code that is used for CNC machines.

In case you aren't a geek, a CNC machine (computer numerical controlled machine) is a computer controlled lathe or milling machine.

The RepRap IS basically a small CNC machine and it operates in a similar manner. The main difference between the RepRap and a CNC machine is that a RepRap extrudes plastic to make parts while a CNC machine cuts away metal to make parts.

Open Source = Easy and Cheap Upgrades

The nice thing about the RepRap is that it is open source, this means that all the files that go into the creation of the machine are freely available, including the firmware source code. This makes troubleshooting easier, and allows you to easily modify any aspect of the RepRap including the software if you want to. Almost any CAD program can export STL files, which is the standard 3D printer file used with the RepRap.

When better software becomes available, you will be able to download it free.

Where to Get the Other Stuff You'll Need

You download the software here.:

The software for changing the firmware on the controller is here. We will include our modified firmware files.:

Because our RepRap has an optional heated bed you can use it to print out more accurate plastic using the tougher plastic called ABS if you cover the glass with PET tape.

We buy our plastic filament from Ultimachine. You might like them too.

This machine does require some technical expertise. If you don't know which end of a screwdriver to pick up you definitely shouldn't buy it.

Basically you need to be technically savvy enough to install the hardware, software, and specifications for 3D printer jobs. But remember that you have that free hour of support from our smart engineer in case you need help.

Don't ask us for rush shipping. We used to do that but it gave us ulcers!

Please do call and contact us with any other questions you have! This is a profoundly world changing technology and you need one today!
