Response to How big of a regenerator pipe to use
........use a 1/4 inch diameter copper tube for your regen. pipe to join the displacer cyl. to the power cyl. . Your length will be determined by the distance between these cylinders of course.

Response to How to calculate Stroke length?
..........You do not have enough information in your question. Are you
working with the power cyl., or displacer cyl.? What is "too tight"? You
don't even mention a piston. I do not know what "power output 17" means.

Response to POWER PISTON DISPLACEMENT!!!
<t>.......Hi Pete, A few technicals for you, based on the following assumptions in model Stirling construction. Aluminum and graphite most likely choices. Weight of piston with either material will not matter....we're talking Grams here. Model Stirlings from what I build and have seen on "You Tube" ...

Response to Reusing loss heat
<t>..........John, You seem to be introducing complications and conditions to your model that just may not exist. Also not sure of your type of model you are planning. Assuming a traditional Stirling model heated with an open flame. If your model is a horizontal configuration,it is true that the hea...

Response to LTD piston/displacer/crankshaft questions
<t>You can be square up on the strokes or a few mm. difference, such as a 22mm displacer stroke and an 18mm power piston stroke, these motors don't seem to care in this range differential. I have 3.5 in. dispacer with 15mm power cyl. and 2.5in. with 10 mm p.cyl. I never used diaphrams but only made ...

Overpriced for purpose.......rubing alcohol is denatured alcohol and more economical to use. $1.89/qt.

Response to MM-5 leak, displacer/power piston contact
<t>I don't have a MM5 motor but looking at the sales photos it looks like there is a black tube that crimps on and joins the two halves of the connecting rods for both the power and displacer connecting rods. You will have to shorten the power piston rod so the piston doesn't travel far enough to ma...

You can run these motors on rubbing achohol from your favorite drug store. Use the 70% variety as 50% is too hard to light and the 91% will smoke some.
