How big of a regenerator pipe to use

I am building an alpha Stirling engine and I don't know what diameter
or length of pipe to connect the two piston chambers with.
The piston chambers are 3" in diameter and 6" long. This gives an
internal volume of 42.4in^3 for each piston chamber.
Can someone tell me or estimate for me about what diameter and length
of pipe I should use to connect the two chambers?
Thank You,
Mark

........use a 1/4 inch diameter copper tube for your regen. pipe to join the displacer cyl. to the power cyl. . Your length will be determined by the distance between these cylinders of course.
