Has anyone ever tried using the temperature difference that would
occur (by convection) in a tall tube filled with fluid, water or
something, to power a low temperature differential engine? I've read
of something like this being suggested for getting power from the
temperature differences in the ocean, but using convection alone
would demonstrate a way of using the energy in fluid to create its
own difference. I'd sure like to know if something like this has been
done.
