I'd like to know about some numerical values of the dead volume
ratio (dead volume/expansion volume)to insert in my numerical
simulation of a micro Stirling cooler based on the Schmidt model.
Moreover I like to have informations about the results of this
simulation: what is the coefficient to divide the refrigeration power
for( remembering that the Schmidt model uses many semplifications...)?

Andy Ross has some info on page 58 of Making Stirling Engines that may be helpfull. He was using dead volume as a speed control mechanism and added various volumes of dead space and recorded the engines free speed. Obviously you need to keep dead volume small, but that doesn't help you much for your simulation.
The book is available from our company, Bailey Craftsman Supply and others. It's definitely a must read if you are planning on building a small Stirling prime mover. Would it help you in your cooler simulation project? Perhaps.
