Response to how do I make a Stirling engine?
Hi Robert,
As a good student at an excellent grammar school you should know that you are asking for something free, and free is one of those naughty four letter words! [smile] We don't give away free plans for any of our engines, but there are a few Stirling engine plans that are posted on the internet. Go to Google and search on "Stirling engine plans". Jerry Howell has some good plans for sale if you plan to use a lathe, and several people have free tin can Stirling engine plans on the web.
When you get your engine built, come back to this site and make a free web page so you can show your pictures to the world. We do give away free Stirling engine web pages. First register, then click on Homepage Maintenance to make your Stirling engine page.

Hi Robert.
We are working on it in Brazil and we can help you , but would be great if you read a book " making Stirling engines " by Andy Ross. Actually I'm trying to contact him to translate his book to Portuguese and publish it, but I've got no answer yet. If you need any assistance let me know. we can share some plans.
What is GCSE ?

In searching for "Test Tube Stirling Engines" I found a site with directions for a test tube version and two home brew versions of the MM-5 Coffe Cup engine. Search made with www.dogpile.com and also look for "Mr. Omniscience." Note that building from scratch takes both design and craftsmanship skills. Due to the perversity of inanimate objects it frequently happen that Murphy's Law take over and an engine won't run or it is extremely temperamental. On the otherhand it just may take off like a scalded pup!
