will all Stirling engines work just as well upside-down as they will
right-side-up? do certain kinds do this better than others? does it
matter which side of the power cylinder gets heat in this situation?
just interested because so far all the models i have seen have the
hot on the bottom

Response to turning an engine upside-down
The MM-1 will run upside down or vice versa. Heat on top cooling on bottom or vice versa. No problems with most simple designs. Direction of rotation will change with reverse heat flow throught the engine.
