weight distribution

I was wanting to know if the weight of the displacer piston could be off
set by adding weight to the walking beam end opposite of the displacer.
And would this be the same as adding weight to the flywheel. I am
building a walking beam style engine link here
but my displacer piston has gotten a lil heavy using stuff lying
around the garage.
