Stirling engine in air conditioner?

Can a Stirling engine be effectively used for the compression stage
for air conditioning, using the external high temperature environment
as heat source?

A Stirling engine is a closed system using air or other gas(es) to convert heat energy to mechanical energy and reject a portion of the input heat to a lower temperatue heat sink. It is NOT adaptable to being used as a compressor.
