I'm new to these little engines and have had my machine tool class
build one and we can't get it to run. It is a two cylinder engine
and all of the sizes look good. I can spin it about two rounds by
hand be fore it slows to a stop so there are no binding issues but
we can not get it to run any help would be great. Thanks

Not knowing any details of your engie I can only suggest that:

First: Friction should be minimized as far as possible. With the enclosed volume of air vented to atmosphere the engine should spin freely by hand.

Second: There should be (almost) NO leakage inside to outside, except for the displacer gland and/or piston blow-by.

A graphite piston should fall freely in it's mating glass cylinder.
With a sealed bottom the piston should take 10 - 20 seconds to fall through it's mating cylinder with the bottom sealed off.
