I live off the grid and use 12voltt solar most of the time. We use a
wood stove to heat our home and water come winter. This is also the
time of year that solarcollection is at its least. Could a Stirling
engine be produced to run off the stoves heat and power a 12volt
generator. Or am I looking at a large machine just to see results?
Any info would be appreciated.

The system described is not 12 volt but it could probably be converted.

Please note that the paper referenced in this thread is dated 1999, over eight years ago. It was not in production at any time. The links from that publication are from a site having to do with "Future Energy" with many obsolete and/or defunct web sites.

There are only two Stirling engine stove top fans currently in production as far as I know. These are to circulate the air in a single room such as a fishing camp cabin where there is a old time type wood burning stove,

Do you know if anybody tried attached rare earth magnets to the blades of the fan and mount a 12 volt coil next to it, as in bicycle dynamo style? You are only talkin about 3 watts, but that little fishing cabin would have LED light as well as a warm breeze!
