Has anyone created a Stirling motor large enough to turn a generator.
What configuration would be considered the best (single piston,
double piston?
I would like to heat the motor with a parabolic dish, but the largest
application I see is a 2 foot dish. I would like to do something on
the scale of a 6' dish.
Any leads guys?

Response to Stirling motor for generator
Hopefully you get a good answer on the engine. You will surely need the biggest dish you can get your hands on, running in bright sunny weather.
The dish will have to be capable of tracking a satellite. In this case, the satellite is the sun. Myler is cheap and makes the best practical reflector. Some cable companies now have decommisioned large tracking antennas, replaced by fiber links from a larger head end. Get persmission to use it right there, and you have it made. You may want to change the focul to Cassegrain and have the heat focus at the base be the input to the Stirling.
The Stirling I hope you can find, please keep us posted.
If you could charge a large UPS battery bank, and sell the rest back to the electric company, you might be able to sell this coversions.
Good luck.
