water pump

Post by kennethmallorysfungi »

Has anyone built the growbiz-abco Stirling water pump.(copper and
galvanized pipe) I've been out of work to long to justify thirty
bucks for plans. Thinking that it would be perfect for irrigating
garden from my cistern.

Response to water pump

This is very cool stuff, and completely new to me.

I saw one example of a liquid piston engine, but not so simple as this, and did not know variations have been in use for so long.

I suppose there must be some downside or weakness, but something that pumps water can make electricity. Do not know what pressure/power levels we are talking, but still, this is cool stuff.

Here are a couple of good links to look at. It does not like like you would really need detailed plans, this is good for a home type machine shop.

This one also refers to mid-ocean bouys that use this now.

This one has a better simple drawing and explanation of the concept. It also has a few good discussion entries.

Cool, thanks.
