ok not sure how much heat is needed or other things, but you think
it would be possible to say though a heat exchange off the headers
or such to take that heat and apply it to a Stirling engine and than
apply the engine to creating force induction of air back into the
car? like super charging it?
using te heat to power the Stirling than for it to power a turbine
or such to compress the incoming air back into the engine
my idea, probably falls flat, but had to ask

I dont know if this will work, but is there an advantage over traditional supercharging? Would this strain the engine less? Remember you've got to lug the Stirling engine around. They are quite efficient in their utilization of energy but they are not small.

Well I need to figure out per say how much heat it would take to run Stirling engine off something like the header ( exhaust manifold ). If it would be enough, basically I was just throwing ideas out there.

BMW has been studying this approach for some time. Don't know where they are on it, but it will take some imaginative engineering as suggested above.
