i am a Mechanical Engineering student and i am want to make a 1.5kw
Stirling engine. I am going to make Alpha type. I want to ask whether
i can use and ordinary piston and cylinder of a motor bike for my hot
cylinder or not.. How much temperature that piston-cylinder from a
Bike can bear. i have a controlled heat exchanger.
If that piston can bear a temperature range of 400-600 C. Then it'll
be fine. Otherwise please suggest me some alternative.
Thanks
Awais

"Piston and Cylinder Selection for my 1.5kw Stirling Engine"
Awais: The Piston-cylinder should withstand 400C/752F depending on the materials of construction. At 600C/1112F it could be problematical.
